Visit the dentist

05 Jun When did you last visit the dentist?

New research shows that more than two million adults in the UK haven’t been to the dentist in over ten years!

The Bupa Dental Care “National Dental Survey” also revealed that more than a third of Brits admit they ignore dental pain or mask it with painkillers rather than visit the dentist.

We know that dentists have a scary reputation, but we’re not that bad!

Ignoring the issue will not make it go away and often makes it worse.

So, when should you visit the dentist?

Outside of routine annual check-ups, we recommend you see your dentist if you match any of the following:

  • You haven’t had a routine dental check-up for over one year.
  • You lose a tooth (young children excepted!).
  • You have a toothache.
  • Your gums are puffy, or they bleed when you brush or floss.
  • You’re having jaw pain.
  • Your mouth has spots or sores.

Early assessment and identification of dental health issues will prevent problems escalating and becoming harder to treat and more painful.

If fear is holding you back from visiting the dentist, we promise to make the experience as stress-free as possible and do all we can to have you leaving your appointment glad that you came.
